Though tangentially related, I must make a confession. I have teethered a laptop over an EDGE connection SEVERAL times.
*hangs head in shame*
*shot for melodrama*
But it's not terrible for checking email, some crucial AIM conversations--yes, they can be crucial, and hitting up a favorite (en)gadget site. Hell, my connection went out last week while doing a project, so I had to teether a connection on my PC via EDGE, I only had to gather some fairly low res pictures and text, though. Of course it wasn't HSPDA or broadband quick, it was passable.
----------
But, yeah, I am sure those 3G lovin' and accustomed Europeans are going to have fun with EDGE. Maybe now they'll know what it feels like for us to import those European phones with 3G Euro coverage but only US EDGE. See, even those who hate Apple can see they are good for something, unless you're European AND hate Apple. Then, well, I guess there's more fuel for that fire, although it begs to question (if that's how the idiom goes) why an Apple hater would purchase an iPhone.
