What you have to remember is the free calls are the skype to skype ONLY. There will be NO skype out / skype in. But of course it is also a cell phone, with a normal cell phone number for non skype contacts to call you on, and make calls to normal numbers.
3 (via x-series http://xseries.three.com ) have been enabling Skype on a bunch of their phones for quite a while now. This is just a co-branded handset, that is cheap, which is cool.
But when you can do EXACTLY the same on an N95 or even a Nokia 6120 (both which have HSDPA to boot) the coolness kinda wears off.
Nice cheap phone, but I would rather a more powerful phone with more features, that can do all the same (including the Skype stuff) and skip the dedicated Skype button :-)
True, I would however add that has a funkier Skype GUI you caqn also IM and is darn cheap. No skypeout as such BUT you use your inclusive minutes/ standard call rate rather than paying the full international rate.
