BlackBerry Curve 8310 finds its way to AT&T
We can't say that this one caught us off guard -- you know, considering all the whispers and pictures leading up to today -- but regardless, AT&T is making things official by formally introducing the red (and titanium) BlackBerry Curve 8310 to its network. As you all well know, this piece boasts built-in GPS, a 320 x 240 resolution display, two-megapixel camera, integrated media player, microSD expansion slot, Bluetooth 2.0 and support for A2DP / AVRCP. So, how bad will snatching up a fiery new 8310 (which is on sale now, by the way) hurt your bank account? $199.99 after signing away your cellular soul for two-years and waiting who knows how long for a mail-in rebate to make its way back.

In stock now, and the red one is hot!
Why can't ATT give us the one with wifi? I need to save money on data plans!
How does that make AT&T money?
Yeah, why can't RIM add wifi and 3G to this, so I can leave my Treo650 forever
The answer is simple... CORPORATE GREED.
No wifi for you because they know that the majority of time you'd be sitting in a place with Wifi and therefore would have no use for their shltty signal.
I have a Blackberry and most of the time Im at work sitting right under our wifi router or at home sitting under my wifi router. If I had to actually pay AT&T to connect to their cell networks each time I sent data I'd be making them lots of money.
Att and other providers seem to think that we would not want a data plan if we had wifi, but that's just not the case. I have an E61 (wifi and GPS) and only rarely use wifi. They need to understand the target user here. the most obvious point I can think of is 99.99% of people who get blackberries have the data plan or are required to get it when bundled with the phone. Taking away wifi is just stupid because the phone was designed to support both GPS and wifi.
I hate AT&T as much as I hate Michael Bolton
I was just at AT&T today in Dallas and happen to see this Curve and I also saw the nicer one with wifi and GPS.
2 year contract = no deal.
This surely looks like Palm !
AT&T is the worst... ever. Even the crackberry will suffer.
amen
If it were 3G, I would upgrade my phone in a heartbeat.
get the 8820, it has wifi
The 2 year contract didn't stop the 1+ million iPhone users who paid $600!?!
HA HA HA HA!!!
these things had bluetooth.... right ?
then learn to forward LAN signals via bluetooth, that will solve your wifi issues
Or get it for free if you've got a corporate contract with AT&T, and free overnight shipping. My red 8310 will be delivered by 3pm today. I'm sure it'll be my best free phone yet.
When is RIM going to release the Curve 83xx series model that has both WiFi AND GPS? That's the one I'm waiting for.
I'm on the market for a blackberry. Does anyone know if and when Spring plans to add the Curve to its network? Has anyone heard any rumors that Spring would be adding the Curve to the network?
