Samsung's pair of uber designed
Armani and
Serenata cellphones were caught out on the town in a European paparazzi twist-up last night. Don't worry, we won't distract you from your vanity by running down the specs again. We will, however, swing open the stall door to more glamour than you can shake a rolled-up Benjamin at. Just click the read links for your fix. Go ahead, everybody's doing it.
[Thanks, Aniki]

An A/X (Armani Exchange) logo would be much nicer IMO. Or just a simple 'Armani'. GIORGIO ARMANI seems too long and obvious, that it takes the focus away from the handset.

Not so sure about that... A|X also happens to be the lower-end logo/brand of the Giorgio Armani umbrella.
Jon @ Oct 4th 2007 4:10AM
That is exactly true, but I always thought that Armani Exchange consumers are the sort of people these products should targeted at. So far most of the people I have met who have LG Pradas are young professionals with contemporary fashion sense, which the A|X brand caters to.

Did anyone notice that the person in the pic is holding the Serenata upside down. Welcome to the topsy turvy world of B&O!

It's a miracle he didn't engrave his logo right into the screen to make it even more noticeable. Nice device, but huge logo on the front makes it a shiny turd. You'd think they'd learn something from Jony Ive, eh? Apparently not.

Having his full name on it makes it look really tacky. It's as if it's a Chinese knock off trying to really convince you it's the real deal. I would have preferred to see it say Samsung and then even Armani just appear on the back or on screen or known it to be "styled by Armani". It just doesn't look as sexy to me as they are trying to portray. The two call buttons on the bottom are just so ugly.. I mean could they locate them any closer to the corners?

"I would have preferred to see it say Samsung..."
Why? Samsung logo certainly isn't more attractive. Any logos on the front surface are unnecessary. Fortunately, iPod (and Zune) designers realize it.

yeah its that ridiculous logo thats keeping me from wanting to buy, not the price tag.

Cool! It's got that game where you move the tiles around to get the numbers in sequential order. I love that game.

Maybe it's just me, but neither of the read links work so I can't get my fix...
BatteryAcid @ Oct 4th 2007 8:23PM
I'd tap dat.
They look nice but where is the keypad on the Serenata? On screen?

American users are not the key market that the Armani phone is aimed at...as horrifying as it may seem to you.
In other areas, people actually want the logo and branding..particularly in Asia, Russia, and areas of Europe...of a luxury-related entity.
One design does not wow...or upset all.
