I'm being 100% serious in saying this; WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU UPGRADE THE F/W!? Are these people stupid? These must be the people who, when they were children, put their hands in a fire to see how much it hurt. What did you think would happen after Apple issued the statements about the new FW? And now they're moaning about a bricked phone. I have no sympathy for anyone stupid enough to do it. (this does not include people doing it for research/experiment of course, i.e. a developer, blog team etc etc)
Amen! I feel like I hit a jackpot by having an unlocked, hacked 1.0.2, does everything I need and I can even SSH into it! Why oh why would you "upgrade" when you know that the only upside is the iTunes store and some minor tweaks??
I went ahead and upgraded despite the fact that I knew my 3rd party apps would go missing. Why? Because there is so much determination out there to make the iPhone hackable that it won't be long before I'll get my apps back. Just look at the PSPs track record. No one wanted to upgrade their firmware until someone figured out how to have your cake and eat it too. So impatient and whiny, gosh!
I don't think you need to make personal insults to anyone who decided to upgrade. It's not bad patching Safari security holes or being able to hear someone over your speakerphone. 1.1.1 won't be the end-all here, it'll be cracked eventually, but your immaturity will live long past this post.

His comments were impersonal as they referred to a hypothetical group of people.
"your immaturity will live long past this post"
