HTC "Phoebus" hits the FCC, could be the Juno for T-Mobile
Details (other than super-nerdy RF interference specs) are light right now, but an HTC device labeled the "Phoebus" just hit the FCC's website, and a look through the specs reveals what appears to be a GSM 850 / 1900 device, with a 2 megapixel camera. Unfortunately, there's isn't a shot of the front of the device, so you'll have to make do with this sexy shot of a flayed backside while we dig up the real.
Update: Goodness, the back end of this thing certainly bears a striking resemblance to that of the Dopod C750, doesn't it? Looks like this could be the upcoming Juno for T-Mobile.

Nerds...

As a nerd, I'm somewhat excited about all new gadgets. And looks aren't important to a nerd, it's what's on the inside that counts.
Oh yeah, show me the backside... mmm, yes... take off your cover... oooo, let me see in your compartment

The back of this device looks like the Dopod C750 which appeared a couple days ago on Engadget Mobile. I guess this denies the question of whether the Dopod C750 was actually the HTC Juno.

Sigh, Engadget. A quick look at yesterday's own Engadget news will reveal that this is the Dopod C750, a variant of the HTC Juno...

i noticed the same. http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/09/26/dopod-c750-and-htc-juno-one-in-the-same/

Strangely similar to the blackjack?

Well we do know that if it's a smart phone it doesn't have enough battery.
That battery can't possibly be bigger than 1600ma and is probably 1200 or less. It sucks when making heavy use of your non phone functions forces you into moving from charger to charger. It's like swimming in a frozen river. Your main concern is not forward movement so much as finding the next hole in the ice to breathe through.
Meccalangelo @ Sep 27th 2007 10:58AM
Um...the battery looks to be about the same size as the BB Pearl which has flash. It should be adequate

It's not the memory that eats the power. It's the bluetooth, and wifi, and high processor loads caused by things like video and complicated apps. Not all such things are power eaters. Driving mp3s doesn't take much power for instance. I suspect the new slingbox app is going to be real power hungry. People don't tend to use the wifi on the bb pearl much because of the limited availability and type of usable locations.
