Bluetooth Mini Phone provides alternative to ear-worn headsets
Let's be honest, Bluetooth headsets can garner awkward stares when used in public, but it's understandable if you're not keen on flashing that new iPhone whilst creeping home in the wee hours of the morning. Blazing to the rescue is the Bluetooth Mini Phone, which pairs up to your handset and goes nicely around your neck. Essentially, you can answer your phone calls with this wee, retro-influenced gizmo rather than whipping your mobile out, and while the utility here is certainly debatable, those sold on the idea can snap one up (when it returns to stock) for £24.99 ($50).

...And you're going to be avoiding these stares by talking to a dog biscuit?
Forget the phone, just take the lanyard. Get an ear piece that's easy to take on and off, and hang that from it. Put it on when you have a call. Or even don't put it on and merely hold it to your ear like you would the miniature phone thing. Much more flexible.
Now if what you wan is mere "lookit meee!" humor value, Make the phone more dog biscuit shaped, then hang it of a dog collar along with a coiling cord. attach same to a large dog.(preferably yours)
The humor value of pulling out a miniature handset is simply eclipsed by a phrase like "excuse me my dog is ringing"

Might as well make a mini phone that size with a full keypad...

Doesn't this kinda defeat the purpose?
Isn't the reason you use a bluetooth headset to be hands free? What's the point of holding something else to your ear?
Thankfully, you'll still get the other major feature of bluetooth headsets with this though. You'll still look like a doochbag while using it.

I just posted about the retro headset yesterday! Its still way cooler than this dog biscuit looking thing. I'll probably be picking up my retro BT phone this week. :-)

So it *IS* possible to look like an even bigger tool than by just wearing around your BT headset all the time! Who woulda thunk

I want to to meet that first guy who acted like a douche and gave BT headsets a bad name. I really don't want to fear public scorn anymore when i use my beloved gadgets. Why Douche zero, WHY!!!!!!

Cell phone tech evolution:
1) "Wow, what's that?"
2) "What a dick!"
3) "I want one!"
4) "I got one!"
5) "Too many jerks have them! What's next?"
(repeat until wallet empty).

If you don't want to use a headset, can you get a bluetooth device that looks like a small, regular cellphone?
Then you can keep your awkwardly big PDA phone safely tucked away.

That's such a poor idea. I wonder what demographic they think would actually wear one of those...
Chino B @ Sep 20th 2007 5:40AM
I'm gonna have to be on crack to answer a phone call. lol
sane @ Sep 20th 2007 8:36AM
I think I'd keep mine in my pocket, next to my phone, coz that's how I roll.

Why don't you just put your phone on the lanyard like Rose did in "Silent Hill?" Then you can dial, view the CID, and use any other features your phone has. All that for just £0.99 ($1.99)

Cos' this looks so much cooler - retro is back :P
