ok, after this jobsonouncement i'm pretty shure the 3g thing won't come until q2 2008 - starting the annual renewment of iphones like that of ipods.. only thing left for me of interest (as a german) is whether the german keyboard is realised well, then i'll drop that sad f700 vodafone story and go for the big t.

SJ said " 3G needs to get back up to 5+ hours, something we think well see later next year" I read that as "We'll bring out the 3G iPhone next year"
