Steve Jobs in Berlin tomorrow, France on Thursday?

Now, we know how hot-under-the collar you guys get when we note El-Jobso's movements in Europe, but news is news, people. Just as speculated yesterday, it appears that the Apple honcho is working his way across Europe, moving nation-to-nation to spread the good word of iPhone wherever his New Balance touch ground. Not content with just launching the device in London for the O2 network, the company is taking this show on the road, traveling to Berlin on Wednesday where Jobs and his turtleneck will supposedly announce a partnership for the iPhone with T-Mobile. Expect EDGE, lots of screen touching, and Steve saying, "OH-, eine weitere Sache." Then, as we hear, it's off to France for some sightseeing. Just kidding... about the sightseeing.

Engadget got worried that they'd exhausted every possible piece of trivia and minutiae concerning the iPhone and iPod and were fearful that - just for once - they'd end up with a front page entirely free of any mention of Apple profucts.

But then they came up with the masterstroke of turning to fiction instead, thus guaranteeing the welcoming presence of the Apple brand on the homepage forever.

He just stepped in a wad of gum. I have a live feed from his new balance shoes. Built on the same technology as the Nike + iPod, the iJobs: Shoe Edition tracks "Our Savior's" every movement, literally. In addition the iJ:SE tracks other important information such as:

Number of Steps taken during the day
Disposition of sole of shoe
Moisture content of sock
Fungal Content of foot
Tensile strength of laces
Foot Circulation
Extending mirror situated on top of shoe for "those special ladies"


It blends, but only plays Doom on "Don't Hurt Me" difficulty setting.

The only people who *notice* any relationship between T-Mobile in various countries are, with few exceptions, the shareholders.

Virtually all of the exclusive phones are only exclusive to one the US or Germany.

If your phone is SIM locked, it's locked to T-Mobile in your particular country, and T-Mobile in whatever other country just doesn't know or care about you. When I was a T-Mobile US customer, I didn't even get a roaming discount on T-Mobile in other countries.

So, no, you ain't getting * if the iPhone goes on T-Mobile DE.

I'm not normally one to yell "is this news" but seriously who the bloody heck cares where he's going? Are we going to get posts everytime he goes to another country to announce that the same thing is coming out over and over again. I like iPod/iPhone news just as much as the next guy. So I don't want to use the thing that filters them out, but at the same time I don't need to know where Steve Jobs is every minute of the day.

maybe this is old news to everyone else...but, when I was lookig at these pics of the iphone in UK runing firmware update 1.1.1 the iphone now has a option for video out!!! I wonder what cables work for it...here is the link...look there is a wide screen setting

You know, the other day I was reading People.com, (I know, I know heckle now) and they had a good, three-paragraph story about a restaurant that America Ferrera was eating at. And what she thought of the food, etc.

Now People is a (somewhat) respected publication, and they have a duty to reports news. More or less.

Now, engadget, a--are you ready for this?--blog, Yes, a blog, not a news service, is reporting Steve Jobs' appearance in Germany, not just to say he's there for the liverwurst. No, he's there for a reason, to announce the iPhone, which is arguably the biggest product launch all year.

So, you can say that it's not news, but if you want news you can go read about how America Ferrera doesn't like sushi on people.com.

Individual bloggers can set whether they can have comments on their posts or not; I asked that one on here a while back. It's kinda frustrating because sometimes I really want to comment on Ross Rubin's Apple bias.

Sometimes the Switched On posts start out with what seems like an interesting topic and then just end up pointlessly comparing methods with the way Apple does things even when it's not relevant or an entirely accurate view of the whole situation. I can't help thinking it's a column better suited for TUAW if it's just going to be about a constant comparison between Apple and the rest of the technology world.
