Steve Jobs arrives in London: jeans, turtleneck and New Balance expected soon
Listen folks, if you had even a slight bit of concern that tomorrow's "Mum is no longer the word" announcement from Apple was going to be anything less than monumental, you can now put those fears to bed. Steve Jobs, AKA El-Jobso, AKA the Jobs-man, AKA Jobbers is in London as we speak, undoubtedly standing in front of a full length mirror and practicing saying, "Oh, one more thing," with a fake British accent. You have been warned: there will be at least one human being in England tomorrow wearing stonewashed jeans and your dad's turtleneck.

What is this news about?
Argot @ Sep 17th 2007 4:23PM
It's about some cult leader arriving for a ritual involving some sort of fruit and possibly zombies.
imacmatt09 @ Sep 17th 2007 5:25PM

Oh i'm a mac user btw.
Javi0084 @ Sep 17th 2007 5:34PM
I wish there was a way to filter all this Apple "news". I'm not Apple hater or lover but this is just too much.
Twitchy @ Sep 17th 2007 6:10PM
Is that Steve Jobs or Phil Collins?
Hugh @ Sep 17th 2007 6:26PM
Javi0084, there is a way to filter it out using tags, i'm just not familiar with how it's done because I never wanted to do it!
TeddyN @ Sep 17th 2007 6:27PM
@Javi0084
Uhm... well there is, actually... http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/20/tired-of-iphone-and-or-apple-news-on-engadget/
n3rdk1d @ Sep 17th 2007 7:45PM
what toilet did he take a dump in?
WHO CARES
sw @ Sep 17th 2007 8:27PM
A gold one, with gold leaf toilet paper, and when he flushes his little apples are washed away in a river kitten tears.
Chris @ Sep 17th 2007 8:35PM
"what toilet did he take a dump in?
WHO CARES"
Then why did you ask?
fontendet24 @ Sep 17th 2007 9:09PM
I think that he's not only presented iphone in Europe - he's officially and at last announce that Beatles is in iTunes Store!
n3rdk1d @ Sep 17th 2007 9:57PM
"Then why did you ask?"
what does sarcasm mean? i forget...
Geoffrey Sperl @ Sep 17th 2007 10:04PM
n3rdk1d: You need to look up the definition of sarcasm because your earlier comment... that just wasn't it. There was no irony or wit at play there.
vbbr @ Sep 18th 2007 8:02AM
Just saw that it is available on a shopping site in india :

mike @ Sep 17th 2007 4:15PM
No iPhone for the UK ;)
Just kidding.
Aarun @ Sep 17th 2007 4:16PM
That's a photoshopped picture, right?
kaztm @ Sep 17th 2007 6:47PM
Yes...in the original picture, Jobs was giving the finger.
Joe Marriott @ Sep 17th 2007 4:19PM
lol @ Jobbers.
whhh @ Sep 17th 2007 4:53PM
jobber is a robber...gotta love iProducts
Samsam @ Sep 17th 2007 4:19PM
Job's announcement: "You are on the eve of destruction, make your time"
artifex @ Sep 17th 2007 4:20PM
Aarun: the monotonous brightness and strong edges around the flag, and artifacts around the hand didn't make it obvious? :)
I say, old chaps, I believe there's one more thing...
Aarun @ Sep 17th 2007 8:11PM
Haha I know it's Photoshop. I use the CS3 version of the software frequently. I was just in a stupid mood and felt like making a REALLY dumb comment. And now I feel particularly silly for it...Thanks for your understanding..LOL!
Kent Pribbernow @ Sep 17th 2007 4:24PM
So...you're saying he arrived in London, nude? There's an announcement we didn't expect.
Kennyb123 @ Sep 17th 2007 4:24PM
No, Josh Topolsky, we had no slight bit of concern. You already posted that there would be an announcement tomorrow. Thanks for a meaningless blog post.
Can we have a Bill Gates tracker-blogger post where he is each day too? Good God.
Drew @ Sep 17th 2007 5:04PM
A Bill Gates tracker would be boring. We all know he sits in his evil mastermind cave on a volcanic island somewhere in the Pacific. He runs the world from there. Duh.
Kragmose @ Sep 17th 2007 4:24PM
Guess this is the closest I've ever been to my god then. Odd sensation, really.
trumpton @ Sep 17th 2007 4:26PM
Fantastic!
I do hope you're going to treat us to minute-by-minute reports of His *every* move around London-land and start new articles to tell us about His clothing choices for the day!
What kind of shirt will He have? Will it be tight fitting? And don't forget the trousers - they're definitely worthy of an Engadget news report all on their own!
Oh, and what about his footware?! What will Stevie be wearing? Oooh! The excitement! The anticipation!
It's great to know that Engadget are here to break out fresh stories on every single aspect of His iHighness gracing the shores of Blightly-land. A bitlike a tech version of Heat Magazine, if you will.
'Doffs iCap and waits for the next *vital* update.
Jason @ Sep 17th 2007 4:30PM
Good, I hope someone in the crowd asks him when they are going to fix the bad screens on the new iPod touch.
Simon @ Sep 17th 2007 4:31PM
There really is no excuse for this. Engadget, you disappoint me so.
Matt @ Sep 17th 2007 4:35PM
I'm an Apple fanboy and even I think you guys are going overboard with this posting.
david Wrigley @ Sep 17th 2007 4:36PM
ah...ah, they're called 'trousers'...
Jean-Michel Decombe @ Sep 17th 2007 4:36PM
Boom, matey!
Eric M @ Sep 17th 2007 4:36PM
As long as he doesn't open with "It's Stevey B****" I think we'll be ok.
chezzo @ Sep 17th 2007 4:38PM
Come on Engadget, this is just getting ridiculous.
roberto @ Sep 17th 2007 4:38PM
Right now Bill Gates is takiing whatever steps are necessary to comply with the ruling.
Is that enough for you?
:)
Eric M @ Sep 17th 2007 4:39PM
I hear he was looking for Eight ball squash and muttering to himself. Still shell shocked from Noah Wyl... I mean Steve Jobs yelling "YOU STOLE FROM US"
Mark @ Sep 17th 2007 4:41PM
Please give us hourly Steve updates...come on engadget--this isn't gizmodo is it?
Nick Bee @ Sep 17th 2007 6:22PM
Work will be interesting tomorrow - I'm an o2 salesperson in Birmingham, and we've been told to expect a large delivery tomorrow afternoon, and most of us have been rota'd in an hour extra after closing time. I'm pretty certain it's what everyone else is thinking, as are a few of my colleagues.
Stay tuned I guess!
matthewfkennedy @ Sep 17th 2007 4:46PM
He's going to introduce the new Apple (Endgadet) "News" Generator!
Please mention "Q" from the bond movies, Steve.....
Simon @ Sep 17th 2007 4:47PM
Pants = underwear, so i should hope he does!
L @ Sep 17th 2007 4:47PM
So this is "BREAKING NEWS" eh?
What was the point of TUAW once again?
ksk @ Sep 17th 2007 4:50PM
Is this really news!!!
clemonator @ Sep 17th 2007 4:50PM
Man I think this is just funny! it's only a news entry... why is everyone getting all upset? Just enjoy his Steveness and prepare to bask in the glory of the live event tomorrow.
ghostdive @ Sep 17th 2007 7:21PM
I think a reason for people to get upset would be the constant downward spiral this site is taking from its original premise.
There are many Apple "gadgets" being released at the moment, but I'm sure SOMEWHERE, there is another large or new company releasing OTHER gadgets that deserve equal attention.
I really hope this post was a big of a joke to get back at everyone ranting about the frequency of Apple posts. If not, god helps us all.
Craig @ Sep 17th 2007 4:51PM
i've always felt the deluge of apple-related news on engadget was justified considering you'll find news about new apple products on non-tech news sites or your local tv news station... but this is ridiculous, especially considering that the announcement for the event was already posted today
John M @ Sep 17th 2007 4:52PM
More great ***News*** err I mean commentary from engadget....Wow Jobs landed in London...Wonder where bill gates landed...oh yeah, engadget is just APPLE fanboys
TDG01 @ Sep 17th 2007 4:58PM
* UPDATE TO THIS STORY *
Steve Jobbs just took a dump!
GazzyC @ Sep 17th 2007 5:05PM
a sloppy apple core shaped dump, as he sits playing Doom on his Archos PMP
Krono6 @ Sep 17th 2007 6:04PM
Who ever said anything about this being 'breaking' news? :S
It's news about an Apple event, tomorrow, if any of you morons read the article.
Constable Odo @ Sep 17th 2007 6:21PM
On France or England? That's important late-breaking news. Somebody should retrieve those turds. They might be worth a $100 credit.
