"Standard" and "option" are polar opposites in the auto world.
I think he meant it would be available as an option in most new Ford vehicles, which makes sense as the entire line post 2006 use the same 4 head units, with two other models available for the Lincoln/Mercury line. I hope this hits showfloors soon, because if I like what I see I might get one for my 05 F-150 if I can make it work with it.
I think I read the transcript of that same speech, as I could have swore it was right after that he mentioned something about the popularity of the Mondeo over in europe, and how he'd like to blend it with the Fusion, thereby bringing the Mondeo's styling to the US while making 90 percent of the parts standard across both lines.
