Can somebody please tell me what's the big deal with ringtones? I couldn't give a sh*t less about ringtones, as long as the thing rings, buzzes, shocks or otherwise lets me know that it needs my attention.

I don't want to come off as a bitter old man, but I just don't get it. Please, really... somebody... tell me what's the big deal.
