I know the team that is responsible for pushing out the updates for the cingular.com site, this was definatly not planned. Anyone that has worked on a production website knows how hard it can be to coordinate all of the different moving parts of the site. Things like this can happen. These guys are very much aware of the impact it has on cingular (AT&T) customers and under no circumstances did this on purpose. The phone has been pulled out now and is not available to order at this time. I do not have the actual launch details.
