HTC gets official on their Q4 lineup
All four of these phones have had their fair share of leaks, but now HTC is ready to fess up and assign some names to their Q4 lineup of phones, which is all set to bust up on Europe this fall. Starting from the left we've got the S3300, codenamed Artemis, which is due for an October launch, and features TomTom software to power the GPS action, along with a 2.8-inch screen and a snazzy new "RollRTM" trackball / track wheel. The P3600 (aka Trinity) picks up where the Prophet and Magician left off with a bit of bulk, some cute looks, but sadly no QWERTY action. The phone does, however, manage HSDPA speeds and a 2 megapixel camera, so it won't be all tears when this thing drops in September. Next we have the Q-killin' "Excalibur" S620, which measures a mere 0.5-inches thick, weighs 4.6 ounces, and manages that lovable QWERTY keyboard and 2.4-inch screen. The phone, due for an October launch, will also come with quad band GPRS/EDGE (3G is conspicuously absent), WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Finally, HTC's S310 "Oxygen" candybar isn't anything too terribly interesting, but it's a nice new look for HTC candybar fans who found the HTC Breeze to be a bit too squarish. The S310 should be out this September. Possibly the best news among all this action is that it seems HTC has decided to abandon the frightening naming convention they adopted for the "TyTN" and "MTeoR." That was a slippery slope if we ever saw one. The worst news is, of course, HTC is only self-branding these phones in Europe right now, and will be letting US carriers adulterate these phones with garish branding and spec drops before we ever get a chance at 'em. Oh well, such is life. Keep reading for entirely-too-large pr0n of all four phones at their shiniest.

The real question is, where can I download the sweet HTC green theme for my 6700? I would like this exact theme very much. Oh, and I love HTC and these phones look great, but please, let's get back to the CDMA action, please. Thx.

flamer's grill, i feel your pain...

I, for one, dispense the QWERTY keyboards. My oh-not-so-nimble fingers can't press less than three keys at a time in these things.
Too bad the P3600 doesn't have GPS as well. Anyways, I can sense a new phone inhabitting my pocket pretty soon.

I'm OK with them doing away with the keyboard if they could make something about 15mm or less that is a full WM5 device - NOT a smartphone. I use the screen too much, need to be able to run software for WM5 and need to edit documents. I use the touch screen most of the time. I understand they will make some with keyboards but for those of us who want slimmer - it would be great if they'd consider it.

You can actually buy the HTC branded phones in the USA, from UStronics.com or expansys -- they have the TyTN there already.

What happened to the original sleek black design that the Trinity was supposed to have? Grr, I'm so mad at HTC right now.

E71 - if you want sleek - I'd check out the http://www.engadget.com/2006/08/23/tech-faith-wireless-sells-501-under-ubiquio-brand
I'm a little peeved at HTC as well. The 6600 was an opening trial in my opinion. What they should have learned was to put in a BETTER BLUETOOTH.
The 6700 has WM5 but the screen wasn't as bright, the BlueTooth still sucks and it is even THICKER than the 6600.
I don't think HTC is learning so I'm hoping for better luck with Samsung or UBiQUio

I love my 6700, but I'd like to see them come out with something that has a similar feature set but is smaller and sleeker.
I have been feeling a bit of Q-envy, and if they had it with a full PocketPC OS I might have even taken the jump, dispite loving the larger keyboard on my 6700.
Honestly the size and look of the 6700 really only started bugging me when I became single again. It's not exactly the coolest looking thing to pull out on a date =P

Hey that's cool. I like the new candy bar phone. If you want to see a good picture review of the HTC TyTN, go to http://www.htcmobiles.com. They have a good writeup with pictures of the HTC TyTN.

3. I can't tell if Artemis S3300 (also called P3300 on HTC's website) has a camera. Some earlier posts said is has a 2MP cam and others omit any mention, as does the HTC website. Does anyone have any firm details?
Eric Bowden @ Sep 7th 2006 9:03PM
If you take a look at HTC's official product photography, the "Artemis" on the left pretty clearly has the classic green and red phone pick-up/hang-up buttons. The screenshot shows a wireless signal strength meter and a text message notification on the Today screen.
But the press release mentions absolutely nothing about a GSM radio, and calls it a "dedicated" GPS PDA. What gives? Is it secretly far better than HTC is letting on? Did I miss something? Does it have HSDPA?
And what the heck is this thing?:

We need a PPC-/XV6700 that is 480x640, a little slimmer, and with the aforementioned GPS-actiona better camera. That would be killer ...
