Helio's KickFlip

Remember that VK 650C that was supposedly headed for Helio, our new fav MVNO? Well, they're launching it, and it's called The KickFlip. Expect it to come bedecked with a 2-megapixel camera, 262k color QVGA display, "semi-auto" bi-directional swinging hinge, MicroSD, 70MB of flash memory, stereo speakers, and, of course, EV-DO. We'd let you know how much it costs and when it launches, but well, we don't really know yet ourselves. [Warning: PDF link]

Cool phone, and would match my ipod.
The only downside I can see is the 2-megapixel camera, I would want a lot more than this as I love taking photos with my phone.

The UI reminds me a bit of Dangers OS. Intersting choice of a name too - kickflip? OK.

If t his was under a GSM, then maybe it might be interesting. I cant stand Verizon.

Sweet Phone. Not quite up to par with current South Korean phones though. Why cann'y our phones be as good as theirs?

I'm going to wait out for Helio's "360 Hardflip to Darkslide". Basically the same phone but its got Wi-Fi instead of EVDO.

I love how people keep asking for "more megerpixels!" in their phones when what they really need for good pictures is a better low light sensor and a lens that doesn't consist of a nickel of cheap chinese plastic.

Go look at Samsung's newest cameraphones (for the Korean and Asian market) and try to tell me that they are using plastic lenses... I have one, and it is most definitely using a decent glass lens, unlike most US phones. I think that Helio will bring the boost that the US cell phone market needs, and might bring Vodafone or DoCoMo into a more active role in the US (DoCoMo is still partnered with Cingular, right?)

Docomo is nolonger partnered with Cingular after so many losses in 2004. The newest samsung phone has 8megapixel camera and obviously it is glassic lens. People must be kidding that samsung camera phones are simply bad. The 8 megapixel camera phone is equiped with Schneider Kreuznach lens. We shall hope to see this through Helio as it will be released in korea this month under SK telecom (coowner of Helio)

Ive owned the Sony erricson s710a, w600i, and now a nokia 6682 all under cingular, the design looks really familiar to the s710a, the sliding hindge, probally took the idea from SE, and it sucks this wont be offered for GSM service, only umda : C (verizon, sprint networks) Any Why would you need more that a 2 mp camera? 2.0 is the highest for phones that cingular, verizon, tmobile, sprint, ect in the usa, not better higher end version that are not unlocked in america. And, the more MP dosen't always mean better picture quality, my sony ericsson S710a's 1.3 mp camera owned. It's the best ive seen. Better than 6680, 6682, verizons 9800vx, palm treo, and other highend camera phones rated at 2.0 mp. The rating isnt always the first thing to look for. Put a big plus is the sreen, tft, thats nice.

I have this phone & the camera takes pretty good pics (if u get have good lighting) the graphix are to crisp n clear. this phone is amazing! yea it does suck that it doesnt have bluetooth n everything, but it really is worth it... truelly the best phone i've had!
