Ever-e A375 Bluetooth PSP Audio Dongle
Here we have the Ever-e A375 Bluetooth PSP
Audio Dongle which, unlike other
Bluetooth PSP adapters we've seen, supports the A2DP profile for full untethered stereo sound. While built for the
PSP, it happens to feature a 3.5mm (1/8-inch) audio extension allowing you to Bluetoothify just about any device
pumping out audio. Since we can't find an actual product picture of it attached to a PSP we suspect they are either
still gearing up for production, or humanely protecting us from an aesthetic retch response. [Via PSP Fanboy]

I don't think you can plug that into any device. Look at the extra plug for button function that the PSP requires? What other gadgets have this same plug?

Is it just audio out?
I'm looking for new ways to communicate during Socom battles.

The Inphidel, Mr. Ricker states in the article that "While built for the PSP, it happens to feature a 3.5mm (1/8-inch) audio extension". This would be an extending wire, I presume, so that you can avoid using the data prong.

better if you can talk to it instead

its upside down.hmmm. ok grab ur psp, look at the audio plugin. then look at the picture above. look at the bottom left side, where the plug is showned. perfect match! best thing about it it doesnt really add to the bulkynesss of the psp. when its in ur hand u wont even feel it. great idea i like it. i would buy it.

Disenchanted with Bluetooth, I bought an ARKON FM transmitter that plugs into any stereo jack and transmits the signal to any FM radio (including) headset type). Now I can have Internet radio, or iPod, anywhere in the house. I also bought their IR wireless stereo transmitter and headphone receiver set ($26) that is ultra-clear but line of sight. Radio Shack also sells a wireless (900 MHz) stereo trans, receiver headset for $49.

I believe the PSP "plug" portion is just plastic to help hold the unit in place. The specifications make mention of only three power sources:
-AC, 100-240V
-mini USB plug
-Battery (3.7V 200mA Rechargeable Li-Polymer)
The PSP's USB plug is on top, and nowhere near the headphone output jack.
The extension portion appears to be solely for passthrough purposes, so you don't have to remove the unit from your PSP when you want to use normal headphones.
I suppose you'll be able to use this with other devices, since it's battery powered.

If i'm not mistaken the Ipod has a similiar plug. I know for a fact that my Rio S35s MP3 player also has the same plug as the remote for the PSP.

Forgot to add: I'm more worried about the actual Bluetooth headphones, myself. You know, sound quality, battery life, availability, cost, sound quality, battery life...

Does it come in black?

I import some of the Ever-e products and am currently evaluating the PSP dongle. Assuming it lives up to it's promise, you should see it for sale on our site in about 6 weeks...
The picture above isn't quite right -- in my sample there's no data tab next to the audio plug or any other plug or outlets for that matter -- just the charger port.
A short cable is included so you can use the dongle for other audio sources if you want (same as the iPod and iPod Mini dongles). Might look a little strange but if it's hiding in your backpack, who cares.
And yes, it comes in black too.

I realize that the function of this PSP dongle is the same as ipod dongle, and I found they have same plug dongle. A extension plug? Is it used for other player such as mp3/walkman/computer?
So curious about it!
lee @ Jan 4th 2006 6:37AM
I bought a sample last week, so I know more about it. The extra plug/data tab is fit for Sony PSP, and the dongle has an extension plug to fit for another kinds of music player. The battery can support more than 5 hours for listening, and the sound quality for the headphone is ok. But the price is a little high, I think.

I think if the price of bluetooth headphones and donge is USD99.99 inclusive. you will find me buying.
I think bluetooth is over priced and only for people with large pockets. Don't see many people wearing these things.
Better they have 8 -10hrs of playtime than 5-6 hrs, quite inconvenient.
